No, BSM sensors are behind the rear bumper, however if you have a FSC - front Sensing Camera mounted behind the rearview mirror then it does need recalibrating.

Hi grim_reaper,

I have my mazda 6 Atenza 2013 windscreen replaced by O'Brien and my BSM off starts flashing on the second day. I send them the fault code and they insist that the fault is not directly relevant to their repair job. As per your statement that "if the FSC is behind the rearview mirror, the BSM requires calibration", what is the mechanism/what is the cause of it?

Thanks.

Do you mean swapping both modules and sensors side by side or only the sensor?

Hi grim_reaper,

After swapping the radar side by side, the fault came from the left. Does it mean it is a faulty radar? What can I do at this stage to rectify this issue? Please advise. Thanks.

Replace the original RHS Radar module.

They don't need calibrating. However, there is a test procedure in the workshop manual to confirm correct alignment & operation.
