Default Cold air intake question

I have 2007 2.3l mazda6 w/ manual tranny if that matters. I've been considering a cold air intake for a while and I'm pretty set on AEM. It's either that or the K&N typhoon.

My question is, is there a lot of problems down the road with cai, such as (when its raining) road mist from cars in front of you being sucked up into the cai. Because the way the it sits so low to ground just behind the front bumper it seems kinda sketchy. I know you can put a sock on it or whatever, but i've been told if your going to have a sock on your cai, there is almost no point to even having a cai. I don't want to be having to put a sock on my cai everytime i want to drive on wet roads, cause that would be a pain in the *** and I would probably end up just sticking with my stock intake or go with a short ram or somthing.

I know a lot of people with mazda6's have a cai, so if you do, let me know how its holding up and how you like it and if you have problems like this, so I can have some ease of mind when buying mine. Thanks

The only way you should have any real problems with a cai, is if you plan on driving through a lake (ie submerging the entire filter underwater), or going through a car wash with an underbody sprayer. Oh and AEM all the way, no oil to possibly foul anything up.
