Default Check your rims

For anyone with a new '06....check your rims for scuffs!!!!! When I first bought my car and gave it it's first bath, I noticed that one of my rims was badly scuffed - like it had hit a curb or something. Not being a happy person, I called my dealership, took it out there to show them (since the tire nub things were still there and there were no marks on the tires - I obviously didn't do it ) and they ordered me a new rim. When I was out there, the sales manager told me that there was another brand new car that had the same thing, so it must have been something in the delivery. Well, I went out to wash my car today since it was a gorgeous day, and right there on the back rim, same side, was another scuff mark that I previously noticed, but thought had gone away (I thought it was dirt or something since it was winter...) - but the way that it's scuffed, it's right on the edge and depending on which the way wheel is rotated, you can't see it. Not a happy person, called the dealership, spoke to the sales manager (who knows me well now...) and told her about it. She said that they've been having a LOT of problems with this...so now I get to take my car out there on Monday so she can check it out and get me a new rim. But if you have a new '06 CHECK YOUR RIMS!!!! Who knows, maybe it's just the moron delivery guy for my dealership, but the sales mgr said there have been a lot of complaints about this and since I'm leasing mine, I don't want to get nailed for it at the end of my lease - and I didn't even notice the back one until today - four months later, because of where the scuff falls.

I just purchased a 2006 Mazda 6 last week and noticed the same thing today. How I didn't notice it when I bought it is beyond me, but I'm going to swap the rims soon so I'm really not too worried.

From what my dealership people told me, it's usually a problem with the front left (driver's side) because of the guide on the trucks. This is the only one they will replace. I showed them my other one and because it wasn't that one, they said they wouldn't do anything about it (which made me mad because it's in a spot that there is no way i hit anything or did anything to it). I might get it refinished, but probably won't do it until it's time to turn in my car that way I can just do them all.... grrrrr....

They most likely wouldn't even notice that when you are turning the lease in.

I turned in a lease with a non-functioning driver's seat recliner (handle broke off) and 4wd that only the button worked (light said 4wd was on but it wasn't.) I actually got a check back because I was under mileage.

They expect some wear/tear on a vehicle. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

did you lease it for 12k a year? I prob do more like 15k. So leasing I dont think would be worth it for me...but I have always wanted to lease.

I had a 24K/year lease....it was expensive as hell (young and stupid) I turned it in with just over 46,000 miles in 24 months.

I'll never lease again. (I paid cash for my 3)

Leasing is great if:
1) You don't drive a ton of miles
2) You don't want to do ANY mods to your car
3) You never want to do repair work on a car again

and if you're that type of person, you can even save a ton of money by not changing the oil as often as you should....If it's a lease, why care (that's why I'd never buy a used lease car.) I have a friend that went 3 years without an oil change...he just kept is topped off.

I've got a 15k mile lease...it was only about $5 more a month than the 12k!!! I don't drive a whole lot right now and I really didn't want to pay for repairs on a car anymore. I love the leasing...granted i can't do any mods to it, which is actually ok because that keeps me from spending money!!!
