Changing the rotors and pads

Changing the rotors and pads
My delearship quoted me at just over $800 for parts and labor on a new brake job. I did it once before on my girlfriends civic so I am going to do it on my M6. I bought the correct rotors and pads online and got them all for just over 300! I am going to save over 500$ doing it myself! I like the sound of that! So my question to you guys is have anyone of you changed the rotors and pads on your mazda 6 yet? If you have what did you run in to? Any problems? Any good suggestions. I have a torque werench and I am getting some pad lub, vice and a rotor puller. Any other suggestions guys? Thanks...

I also just printed up the repair manual for it that I bought on ebay. Just wasn't sure if anyone had some quick tips. Thanks!

It seems like the worst problem anyone has experienced is getting the old rotors off. From getting the screws out to actually getting the rotors off the hubs, sometimes it's a sticky pain in the ***.
Other than that it's a pretty simple straightforward brake job.
$800 from the dealer? Whoa. That made all 3 of my coronary arteries cinch up..!!!

RE: Changing the rotors and pads
Brakes are simple...There is no reason you can't do your own brakes. There is very little to screw up.
Remove calipers, remove rotors, remove pads from calipers, install pads (synthetic grease only), install rotors, install calipers, lock-tight the bolts and torque to specification. It's exactly how they are built in the factory.
