Default Can't get into my car

Hi all,

I have a pretty bizarre case with my car atm.
i have a 2003 mazda 6 ( european model if that makes any difference ).
So a few weeks ago, the driver's door lock got broken, probably the spring fell off or something else got messed up. So as a workaround, I was entering the car through the other front door all up until a few days ago when I left my lights on overnight, and my battery died.
Now I can't use my remote button to open the car, nor I can use the physial lock since it's broken. Unfortunately, there are no other locks on the car, including the trunk.
i don't want to break the windows, or drill the trunk, that's a last resort. Any ideas are welcome as I am becoming miserable at this point. I don't even know if it's possible to opet the hood to jump start the car.

Cheers Everyone!

Jack up the car, put it on axle stands, remove the undertray, put the positive lead of your jumper leads onto the large terminal on the starter motor and the negative lead to the chassis or trans engine block..

This should allow you to open the car via the remote central locking.

HI,

Thanks a lor for your time and constructive suggestions!
I tried my luck with AWB ( Road assistance in the Netherlands ), and it turned out my insurance covered this case. The guy came with a yellow Van witin 20 minutes, pulled out a plastic crowbar ( a bit more flat ), and something that looks like an old blood pressure meter. He stuck the bar between the door of the shotgun seat and the roof, inflated the 2 air pillows after placing them on both sides of the window, and finally squeezed through the long, thin metal pipe to pull the button for unlock the door. It took him some time, as the angle of the button was very tricky, and the material of the button is very slippery. I was rooting and cheering from the front window, observing the whole drama of "to be or not to be" kind of situation
After wrestling for almost 10 minutes, he managed to turn the buttin on the other side and finally unlock the door. I felt like I just scratched a brand new car on a lottery ticket! Now appreciate my old lady even more
It turned out my wife left both Cabin lights ON in the back, and that drained the battery dead. He jumped started it and we gave it some 10 min to recharge a bit. I had to sit and drive 45 min right after he left, in order to re-charge it fully.
As a cherry on top, the ANWB handyman gave me a miniature version of their yellow Van to hang it on the Christmas tree! I kid you not! And all that for 0€.
Haha, this Country rocks! Their tax system will eat a big chunk of your paycheck, but the public services work so smoothly, you can actually see some of that money back in the system that works in the people's best interest.
Next Monday I am taking the car to the garage to fix the drivers door lock. They ( ANWB ) gave me a recommendation.
i will keep this lovely car for at least 2 years, before considering upgrade. I still smile to the fact that I paid 2200€ only for such a comfortable car that can take you literraly anywhere. My next car will be either Honda Accord 2012, or Mazda 6 2014.
Too bad new Accord is not available in Europe, that is one phenomenal car, it's worth every peeny.

Good Luck and take care!

Happy to hear the successful solution. I was wondering how it would end.

I am surprised the light did not go out after a few minutes. I believe they did in my US 04 Mazda6.

I suspect you will find the Accord to be too big and soft if you find the size and drive as perfect as I found mine. The current Mazda6 is a size larger. The Mazda3 close to your 6. I recommend you consider the third generation Mazda3 2014 to 18 when the time comes. Until that time, enjoy your Mazda6.
