From Bose sound/Hello to whatever you want?
Hey everybody. I have a quick question that has been on my mind. For all the people that have a mazda 6 or who know about them. Okay, you know the audio/visual display above the dash that either says Bose Sound or Hello when the car is turned on? Well, I want to figure out away to reprogram the computer to say what ever I want. I dont know if this is possible but I there has to be a way because it is on there to begin with. If anybody has anything on making this possible, PLEASE let me know. Thanks.
I'm sure there is a way to program the text to say certain words. I for one am not sure how to do so... but what I do know is that if you buy a metra dash kit, it allows you to reprogram the wording to whatever you want within certain limits. As to how you can do it with a metra dash kit... i am not sure. Havent talked to anyone about them or how they work because i'm probably not going to get one.
but here is the link for the metra dash kit if you want to take a look...

If you find a way to change around the text on the stock head unit, please let us know how. Also, if you figure out anything about why the metra kit can be reprogrammed to do so... let us know as well... this goes for anyone who finds the information. I am sure alot of people are going to be wondering about this now.

i've heard that there are a few flaws that irritate some people like the feel of the buttons is different from the stock unit to the metra kit... I believe the metra kit is more plastic-feeling with the **** rings and it actually makes little clicks when you turn the ****.
Thats what I got out of the metra kit discussions that I have found.

Funny , that's what I asked to the right person at the dealer when I picked her up the first day ..... wanted to program ZOOM ZOOM ... but they checked and there was no noticeable way to do so ... somewhere it has to be feasable .... but changing my buttons ; ain't worth it
I am going to find a way to reprogram it. I dont really like that metra kit. Thanks for the link though. I aprreciate it. I am going to do some research and figure this **** out. I gurantee their is a way, and if there is a way I will find it and succed. Well Hopefully. Lol
While you're at it searching , you might want to look for a way to get the fuel mileage computer metre activated also ...
It's over the clock in the command center ... if you look closely , the digital imprints are readable (just right over the clock reading) . Apparently in Europe , they have the use for it ... now if they can , I'd like it too ! It's there , just gotta get it activated somehow .... maybe with parts from Europe Mazda .
I hope somebody from there reads this and can help .
