Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM)

Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM)
I just upgraded from a 2011 Mazda 6 to a 2016 Mazda 6 (great car!). One thing I've noticed is that in my older Mazda, a continuous beep would sound if I attempted to turn/lane-change when an obstacle was in my blind spot (and remain beeping until either the obstacle moved away or I aborted the turn/lane-change) but in the new Mazda there is only *one* beep. Has anyone else noticed this? Was this change introduced in one of the 2012-2014 models and carried forward? More importantly: Is there a way to change it so I get a continuous beep?

WOW! Who needs driving lessons! Guess previous version made it so easy, you didn't even have to look! That's probably why they changed it.
Real Drivers look!
Aim your side mirrors more to side, and not to rear --- this helps to minimize or eliminate blind spot.
More electronic gizmos to go wrong.

Thanks for the links Heritage. Nothing in the Smart Start Guide or the User Manual covers restoring the continuous beep. I talked to a service agent at my dealership. He said I wasn't the only one who had complained about the change. He wasn't aware of a way to make it alert more than once but he said he would check.
