radio. clock. climate display. AMB temp display. CD player. "beep"ing
ALL BROKEN

turned the key this morning, and was confused when the display didnt light. period.
i assumed the battery was low. so i started the engine. nope.

there is NOTHING in the entire display strip.. ITS DARK. radio doesnt work even after pressing buttons. no more "beep" when using climate. my favorite CD is stuck in the player.

WTF [:@] any help?

 

It might be a short in the wiring harness. Have you had anything done to your sound system like install subs etc? I had a similar problem except for me it shorted out the abs, display and speedometer. Needless to say I spent quite a bit getting it fixed since it wasnt covered under the warranty any more. Other than that have you checked your fuses yet? I think the cd player and display are on the same fuse. Hope the advice helps.
In any case take it into the dealer to get it checked out but don't except to get your car back any time soon cause mazda takes forever and a day to troubleshoot and fix electrical problems.

 

I have a 2006 V6 hatchback. Last December (cold mornings in Canada) the display would not light up until the interior was fully warned up after 15-20 minutes of driving. But the radio worked although no display to show what station or volume. I could change stations/volume too. The dealer replaced the display and said I was not alone with this problem.

 

yea. i actually did have dual 12' subs installed. I even went to Circuit city and got it UNINSTALLED. because i figured that would solve the problem. but no. i did check all the fuses and they were fine. taking it to the dealer next week.

and it doesnt seem to be a problem of cold weather. its warm here. and for me. NOTHING works, not just the display.
