Default Advice re: Transmission Fluid/Filter Change 2008 Mazda 6 GH1

Over the past few days I have read every forum and thread I can find on recommendations re: ATF changes in my Mazda 6. The consensus appears to be that while Mazda claim it's a 'lifetime' fluid, that lifetime may be significantly extended by refreshing ATF. However, depending on the miles accumulated, it may not be advisable. I have watched several videos on the procedue, though I am hoping I can find some helpful advice here.

I am determined to get this done, but I want to make sure I get everything right, hence this thead. My intention is to remove the pan, change the filter and then do a couple of drain and fills. I know it's important to put back the same volume as you take out. Is it better to drain cold? I thought it would be easier to match thedrained volume with the replacement volume when fluids are at the same temp.

Unofficially, people seem to reccommed 40-60k mile changes. My car is 2008 and has 67,000 miles. Do people think there would be any risk in changing fluid of this age and miles, or even at all.? Anyone have any tips on the procedure? Important considerations, steps to follow or things to avoid?

I know the fluid is supposed to be a certain temp before checking the level with the dipstick. How do i determine this that the fluid is at the correct temp? And if the fluid happens to be low, do I top it up first and then drain?

Its simple stop reading internet information that has no data or empirical information or not from a Chemical Engineer, a factory trained automotive technician , transmission master technician, transmission specialist with at least a decade of direct hands-on practical experience or and ASE Master Technica with that specific certification of more then 1-2 decades.! Or and ASE that proof read prior to the release of the technical information write up. Blackstone Laboratories Blackstone Laboratories (blackstone-labs.com)
There are to many authors information from less than experienced individual but great theme writers on the internet!
Then if you want to know what YOUR specific transmission basic condition is based on miles over 100k send a sample of the transmission fluid to be analyzed.!

It is as simple as that. What the analysis will show you is what is wearing in your transmission.

If your transmission has no record of basic fluid service from between 60k and 100k or ever then you are likely going to have transmission problem at some point!
