2020 Mazda 6 Touring Rims Curb Rash
I curbed my 2020 Mazda 6 a few days ago at a narrow drive-thru. My stomach was sick to my stomach. Called Mazda dealer and the new rim would have cost $689.00. OMG! The Mazda dealer could not or would not give me the color code of the rim. Thankfully, I know someone who has worked on rebuilding cars his entire life. He looked at it and said, "Yeah, I might be able to fix that for you.". )
The curb rash was BAAAAAAD! REALLY BAD! Long story short, it was sanded down correctly, masked off, and the color used was Dupli-Color for Wheels - Graphite.

Very close and almost dead on. I joined this forum to share because after googling for a few hours, I couldn't find a comparable answer. Hope this helps someone. See attached pics for proof. It will never be PERFECT. But, CLOSE to perfect is good enough for me! 👍😁

My father did it for me. He has worked on cars his entire life. So, he knows what he's doing. However I know he masked off the entire rim except for the road rash section. He also sanded it down but I'm not sure what grade he used. In addition, he used lacquer thinner and/or grease remover to make sure it was clean prior to applying the paint. He only painted the road rash section, nothing more.
