Angry 2016 mazda 6 indicator lights not working

Hi,
Wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue or help to problem solve.
My turn indicator on the dash shows rapid flashing, lights do not blink on either side front or rear. The hazard lights only work when the car is not running. all bulbs are intact, checked fuse, was good, tried replacing it just in case, still nothing,
Any suggestions how to fix before taking it to the dealership?
thank you,
RickT

Whoa…. Ok that is interesting?…

You have more than one circuit acting out of place and I am not sure their relationship if any with each other?. I will need to look at the FSM on your year and model Mazda tomorrow on lighting .

GUESSING only …is a problematic BCM ?..

What miles on your Mazda
When was the last service done and what was it
Have you just to be sure scanned the ECU for any DTC even if you don’t have a check engine light
What you are specifically looking at is the communication between the ECU and BCM.
Has your battery been load tested recently
As well be sure the terminal cables are clean and have a good contact

The car has 115000 Kms
the battery maintenance system light has been coming on intermittently, had a friend tested the battery and was below par ( 410 caa) intending to purchase a new one soon. Cables are clean and tight.
Have not had a scan done on the car yet, trying to eliminate anything i can do before having to pay for a service call.
I'm sure there's a problem is between the turn signal switch and bulbs, that's what I'm trying to figure out.

The first rule of thumb looking for any electrical issues is the battery "must" pass a basic load test.

I managed to fix both issues with my indicator lights not working and Battery System Maintenance light,
For the Indicator lights, I removed the battery cables ( as per manual) cleaned them up, let it sit for a while, reattached and everything started working. I think a relay may have been stuck ( open/closed) and disconnecting power may have allowed it to reset.

The Battery System warning light- I topped off the battery with distilled water, gave it a good run on the highway and the light has turned off, hasn't come back on for a week.

thanks for you input to rectify my two issues, hope this will help anyone else with similar problems.

Soo you choose not to take my advise and assume your battery is ok. Based on this response I *would be surprised if it passed a load test.

That said you may have solved your original issues and that is good to read ...............but anyone reading your resolve should note that you should have checked your battery first and they should do the same not only for a similar issue but anytime there is a problem that involved the electrical system.

I'm having the same issue. The battery and capacitor were replaced by the dealership. When my son brought it home, I realized that the none of the turn signals were working (fast clicking).

I replaced the hazard fuse #50 (25A) and confirmed that the bulbs were intact.

I disconnected the battery for about 10 mins, and hoped it would restore my dead signals, but it didn't.
After reading your post, I decided to unplug for a longer period for time. We'll see.

Why do so many think the fix all is to disconnect and reconnect the battery.
DONT unless you know exactly what you are doing!
Cant advise you with anything else because you choose to respond with a problem you have on your Mazda and didn't provide your Mazda's specific information. Not all Mazda's are the same! LOL

EDIT: reading your other thread here was my response which applies here as well!!

The obvious is to return to the shop that serviced it and have them double check their work. Because it is electrical and can affect other parts of your Mazda and clearly because you are asking how to diagnosis an electrical issue maybe this should be attended to an Auto service mechanic or Technician?

I left the battery unplugged for a few hours, and after reconnecting it, the signal lights worked again. Booya!

When I post service advise I really don't have time to have a bed side manor.
When I do read members posting bad, inaccurate or otherwise information that should other follow thinking if one did it maybe I should try it , especially on a thread i have already given advise then what reads to some as
rough only means you don't know me and defiantly don't know what my level of experience is in the Automotive service and generally automotive world as a whole. But really, I understand the concept of DIY attempting to help in the best way they know how.

Technically speaking most all vehicles with only factory equipment when disconnecting a battery, every electrical part will lose any and all stored power after 5 minutes and 10 if you are unsure of what you are working on. lol
The most common cause of electrical or additional electrical problems caused by owners and DIY is disconnecting and reconnecting the battery to cure issues.
