recently l have found my m 6 with 40k on clock flatttens the battery if you do not lock the doors. Nothing left on. Any ideas? Could it be some thing to do with the Alt' not sensing 12 volts? This because it takes 10 minutes on the charger to start it.

 

Not sure what "flattening a battery" is, but sound like you need a new battery, pure and simple.
