Default 2007 Changes

My current lease is coming up in January and am STRONGLY looking at the Mazda 6. By then I would unlikely be able to purchase a new 2006 model so am curious what can I expect to be new in the 2007 model if that information has been leaked out yet. I read a brief mention of a possible turbo inline 4, any truth in that?

Thanks much!

There already is a turbo I-4 in th eMazdaspeed6 AND 4 wheel drive. If you can't afford that though, you're not getting a turbo in any other Mazda6 unless yu put it on yourself. 2007 shouldn't differ too much if any from the 2006 models.

May be you should try out the Mazda 3 Sport with the turbo 4 (no AWD) which will be available soon as a 2007 model.

From what I've heard, body styles are staying the same and no changes will be made to the exterior or interior of the car (at least nothing major). There is supposed to be some sort of new "value" package coming that will give you things like the side sills and sports bumper and moonroof (i think...don't quote me) without buying the sports model. Not 100% sure of the options of that package...but I say go all out if you want the fun suff...if you can spend the money.

I found this on the web from Wikipedia:

"2008
This article or section does not cite its references or sources.
You can help Wikipedia by introducing appropriate citations.
Mazda is reportedly developing a replacement for the Mazda6 for the 2008 model year. This new vehicle would reportedly use the 3.5 L V6 Ford Cyclone engine with over 250 hp. Insiders predict that the turbocharged MZI engine might be the base offering and that all wheel drive will be available more widely. In addition, it has been said that the next generation Mazda6 will in fact be larger, more luxurious, and take on a shape similar to the Mercedes-Benz CLS 4-door coupe."

I dont think Mazda would put a ford engine in its car though...I think that would scare people away...Any else agree?

What do you think the 3.0L is.....Ford, Mazda, whoever....the same suppliers basically make the parts for everyone, and we all use very similar assembly processes/systems.

I don't think it scares anyone away, 99% of the people probably couldn't even tell you the displacement or how many cylinders their car has.

Mazda6, Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan and Lincoln Zephyr share parts, did that scare anyone away from the current model?

I think that all V6 engined Mazdas use Ford or Ford bases engines. Mazda probably contriubutes to some of the engineering and if I'm not mistaken, Ford's Duratec V6 was originally engineered by Porche.

I've talked to people who don't know if they have front, all, or rear wheel drive. Don't know how many cylindars they have, and don't know if they have disc or drum brakes. It just baffles me. You think even if you aren't a car person you'd know the number of cylindars/layout of your engine was, it being an FAQ you'd hear several times during ownership of the car.

I had a duratec engine and I loved it...Porsche designed it initially? So the 2007 line-up will go down to a 3 year/36,000 bumper-bumper warranty...why is mazda doing this? I mean, I imagine to save money and such, but I first went with the mazda beacuse of the 4 year, 50,000 miles warranty...
