Hi Folks,

I am looking to understand how swappable both the facia and the control panel behind the facia is interchangeable between Mazda 6 years. I have a 2004 model and want to put in a 2007 or 2008 facia if possible, this is to accomodate a more up to date head unit. I have already checked out the bluetooth options, so I am super informed there. I just don't know how interchangeable the fascia's and dash units are, where

1. I swap the facia out and then replace the stereo
2. I swap the whole control unit and then change the stereo

I would only swap the whole control unit if I have to. If the facia swaps over and leaves me with a 2din hole I can fill that hole with a 2 din stereo, or something else, that'll fill a 2din hole.

All advice is welcome. Apart form advice about bluetooth options. Thanks people.

 

I've seen people blow up the BCM by swapping head units / centre panels, be careful & bewarned.

You can buy aftermarket single din or double din centre panels that allow aftermarket stereos to be fitted & integrate with the heater system.
