2.3L Head Bolt Torque/pattern...
Hey folks. I am working on putting a new cylinder head in my 03 6i (2.3L,Auto). I can't find the specs for the engine ANYWHERE! Does anyone know where to find the tightening sequence and torque specs for this engine? Or does anyone know this information? Help is much appreciated!

First is measuring the head bolt to ensure that it has not been over stretched.

Tightening pattern starts at center rear bolt, then center front bolt and then in a spiral pattern outward. 1-10 in diagram below. Below is torque sequence. Last two are in degrees.

[blockquote]b. Tighten 13—17 N·m {1.4—1.7 kgf·m, 10.0—12.5 ft·lbf} [/blockquote]
[blockquote]c. Tighten 44—46 N·m {4.5—4.6 kgf·m, 32.5—33.9 ft·lbf} [/blockquote]

Missed that one on the 13th mazda6guy7. You are meaning the camshaft bearing caps?
