04 6 wagon mpg...pathetic, help!
#11
i got a 2004 3.0l v6 wagon w/ 61,000 miles on it and get, consistently, 22-23 mpg overall, with about 65% hwy and 35% city driving. But then we took a family trip across south dakota and we got over 28 mpg on mostly flat freeway, going 75-80 miles per hour...shocker---i expected the mpg to down at such high speeds...maybe more lift is created, while going that fast...One other major thing i noted after getting this car 6 months ago---i changed fuel types from Marathon 87 octane to Shell 87 octane and the overall milage went from 19-20 up to the current 22-23...both fuels had up to 10% ethanol....i have yet to try ethanol-free fuel..so try differnet gas, and maybe it will improve.....love the car--handles awesome, looks awesome and does everything a person wants...the fuel milage numbers were the same in february(15 degree ave. temp.) and july (70 degree ave. temp) where i live
