Hey guys I have the 03 6, automatic 4spd. W/O bose system. It just has the basic setup, its even got the Tape button but a cover over where I assume the tape thing would go.

Anywho, I really want an auxilery jack, I am good with electronics, wiring, soldering and whatnot, is there a thread on this already? Yes I searched hah. You know I just need info, what is required, if its even possible without changing out the entire bezel/radio, whatever you guys call it. This is my first vehicle that has not had an easily removable head unit so I'm a bit weary. Thanks in advance.

Edit, maybe there's a way to activate the unused tape button to have it turn on the added aux?

 

You need to add an acessory, such as the XCar Link, which uses the plug on the back of the head unit, and is accessed by pushing CD twice. I installed mine recently and I'm happy with it.

 

Yeah I couldn't sleep lastnight so eventually I stumbled across it haha. But it that the only option, like 124$ I believe it was?

 

that's the one. I don't think you'll find it for much less, although if you search the "other Mazda 6 forum" on the 'Net you might find a deal.
