I’m in the middle of replacing the transmission mount on my ‘12. Got the old one out and it’s all cracked to hell…. Hopefully that explains my idle vibration.
there’s a little rectangular piece which goes around where the mount sits on the transmission. It has beefy sides and tiny ends which look like they’re just there to hold the sides together. Walkthroughs/videos I’ve seen just reuse this piece on the new mount which is what I planned to do. My new mount from rock auto didn’t come with that piece…. Seems like most don’t.
anyway that rubber piece one of the tiny ends seems to have broken off. Anyone have thoughts on if I can reuse it on the new mount? I really don’t want to have to reassemble everything and then do it all again after finding a replacement piece. Again, I don’t think the broken part is structural or load bearing. Thinks it’s just there to hold the piece in place.
here’s the old broken mount, and the new one with the broken insert.
