Stereo Dash Customization

Stereo Dash Customization
Hi all, Okay here is where I am. Installed new stereo, hate replacement fascia. Need a solution.
SO I have started by cannibalizing the stock stereo. Pulled everything off of the old stereo and am left with the shell. Next step woudl be cutting out all the old buttons so I am left with a big opening in the middle.
My question is, where can I find the proper pieces to try and patch the newly cut hold so the edges look good and things can fit together nicely, and then install the proper single din stereo & junk tray.
Does this make sense?
I guess essentially I would need a large piece of plastic, cut to fit in the new opening, then cut openings into that to properly fit the deck and tray. Confusing but there must be a way. Has anyone tried to do this??
