Default remove seats?

I am considering buying a mazda5. I really like the flexibility of the interior. However i was wondering if you can remove the middle and rear seats completely. I would need more space for when I take my kids to college and thought you could really increase the storage capacity if you can take the seats out completely.

as far as the middle seats I can't say because I never removed them... as for the rear... there are five bolts, two in the rear and three in the front and then out the back they go. Now they do have plastic covers over them which just snap off. hope this helps...

See I used to have an MPV and the middle seats were designed to unlatch and come out and the rear seat folded completely into the floor so you have a completely flat floor and large area to stow stuff. Unfortunately the MPV died this week and i always liked the 5 for its 4 cylinder engine and economy and small size, but I am afraid it might be a bit too small.

the middle seats on our 08 have two wires going in from the bottom not sure what they're for (side air bag maybe?). I also don't recall a harness to unplug but I could be wrong, will check in a bit. the rears can be removed with one person but two help. compared to the mpv the total space is smaller though I'm not sure by how much

I didn't locate a harness to unplug the wires for the middle row seats, however, they do fold flat. To fold them, remove the headrest, lift the seat base where it meets the seat back all the way up, lift the lever on the side and fold forward. There is space under the seat to store the headrest, and given the vehicles size there is more space than it looks like there will be. Hope this helps....
