I don't really get on here too often since me car never really breaks...lol But I did have help this time. My son burnt up the clutch so I did a clutch swap... it all went fine. went to star the car and it won't turn on. cranked fine.
after a few tried I think the security lock took over and now it wont do anything what I turn the key.
What I found was the ecu was laid with connector facing the sky and it rained. it was a 1/4 full of water. So i'm guessing it shorted some how. and triggered the security system. I opened it up and dried it out I will go back today after work to give it a shot.

my questions are... any way to rest the system?
I'm guessing I have a chip in the key.
my scenarios are....
1 rest my computer somehow.
2 buy a used ecu off ECU off ebay and reprogram it to my car. ($80 plus reprograming_ i'm guessin $150-ish)
3 There is a company on ebay that will program my their ecu to my may car and send me an ECU ready to go.($300)

 

2nd hand ECU & reprogram the ECU & Keys.

 

If i get a 2nd hand one I can get MY key programmed to that ECU right???

 

UPDATE:
When I got home yesterday I started messing with the car. I noticed the flashing red car w. key in it was not continuously blinking any more.
I read this on the Web and tried it. IDK if this actually fixed it or not lol.
tried to start( nothing)
left the key on for 10 min.
turned the key off for 20 seconds
tried to start.
If it didn't work repeat 3x.
It didn't eliminate the light that day but so I gave up and came back the next day
I also tried. locking and unlocking the door with the key.

light was now off but still no start. Car has been sitting about 3-4 months
Finally heard a slight click at the starter then nothing again. Started poking around at relays fuses cables. and It finally started turning over. after about a 30 seconds finally cranked up and ran.

Now I can hook up the intake properly put the wheel on and see how the new clutch feels....
