Default Mazda5 Paint Fading 2009

Hello: My Mazda5 was purchased new in 2009. I have always kept it clean and waxed. In the past year or so the hood and roof paint has faded rapidly . I have seen other Mazda5s with this same condition. It is a shame as I would think the paint would have lasted at least this long. Does anyone know if Mazda has a compensation program for this type of damage? Does Mazda have a complaint phone number to discuss - or any recommendations for discussing with Mazda? Obviously, no longer under warranty of even an extended warranty. Thank you!

No Mazda does not compensate for paint wear. And most paint concerns are not covered by most auto manufactures. There has been a few over the last 30 years that were covered but they were obvious and effected complete line models and specific color paint. None currently with MAZDA even the Ruby RED that has its own false generated MYTHS on the internet.

Main reason for paint fade: You live in CA and we are heavily restricted to what can be used in everyday life and this also extends for paint on production vehicles. Some of the EPA regulation were created here in CA . The EPA has required strong requirements on what can be used. Mazda is not and has not been the only auto manufacture effected by paint regulation changes over the years and decades. Suggestion is to vote for a different governor and or sign the recall notice next time on him? LOL

Second reason: You live in the Bay area and the salt air can effect the paint even when cared for.
Third reason: Washing with less then quality products can prematurely wear paint.
The hood and top of vehicles is the number one area that gets faded or worn first and most of the time. If the vehicle is parked outside most of its life this is hard to prevent this type of paint wear.
