Default Mazda 5 splash guard insanity

Hello, All:
The bolt threads attaching the splash guard to my vehicle appear to have been stripped (guess I exerted too much pressure?). I went to my local car store (AZ in this case) but they weren't able to offer much assistance. Anyone have any suggestions to remove the bolts?
Any help/suggestions much appreciated!

Went through this hell and won !

here is what you need:

1. plenty of WD-40
2. Slip-joint pliers to hold fasteners
3. Socket ratchet to undo bolts

VERY IMPORTANT - extra pair of hands as you will be busy with both hands holding fasteners with pliers....
My second half helped me with the socket ratchet - kudos to her...

Thumbs up

Haha!

Alol74 wish I'd read your comment before removing mine for a filter change, sheared 3 of 5! now have to drill out, anyone know where to buy replacements?
I guess I'll hang my head in shame at a mazda spares dept but if there's a cheaper option.

Try ebay. I had to buy different bolts, different fasteners was not sure about the size that fits so I bought a range

Engine undertray bolts are all M5.
Just replaced all of mine. Search for 'M5 chimney nut' and 'M5 bolts 25mm long' You can also get them together.
Buy stainless ones and never worry about them corroding for the life of your car 😉
