Hi all, new forum member. I'm considering buying the new Mazda 5 but I'm seriously concerned about the safety of the rear-most seats. They are behind the axle, isn't that in the crumple zone? I certainly do not want my kids sitting in the crumple zone.

I cannot find any good pictures of Mazda 5s that have been hit in the rear, does anybody here have any? Can anybody reassure me that the rear crumple zone does not extend to the area where the rear seats are?

Does anyone have any links to safety information/safety tests with regards to the rear-most seats in the new mazda 5?
