Mazda 5 2007 manual transm to mazda 5 2015 swap

2007 had a 5 speed manual... I think the 6 speeds came out in 2012.
Issue is what is the ECM looking for? Is the ECM expecting to talk to an automatic transmission? There might be a way to hack it, or maybe see what happens if you disconnect your current transmission from the ECM and see what happens... if the engine still runs and you can give it gas, maybe you're fine.
You'll probably need some time and access to other 2015 parts to pull it off. Good luck!
