Default I only have 1 key for my mazda 5

hello Mazda friends....Long live Mazdas!!...my 3rd one!....
I was wondering .......... how do I get a 2nd or 3rd key for my 2014 Mazda 5?
Do I have to spend an arm and a leg?

Each key is worth a arm & a leg.

If you want 3 keys you better change your name to Bob.

now, seriously, there are locksmiths out there that can supply, cut & code keys for your Mazda. A cheaper option than going to the stealership.

Google is your friend.

I have the same issue with a a 2013 5 that I bought today. If I get a key from a locksmith can I get a keyfob somewhere, does not have to be part of the key.

I have read I on some forums about big box stores "cloning" keys. Much cheaper option.

Unfortunately th red y cannot make Mazda or most Honda keys. I went to a local locksmith and was told if you have only one key you need a dealership computer to perform the programming. I just had the dealer make a new one for me. The third I had made was a standard chip key. They made that for part cost. More than EBay but no risk of it not working.

This is what we found out also... ended up biting the bullet and just paid the dealership $300.
Yes you can buy the blanks off eBay but no one can or will guarantee they will work so you are gambling. And you will end up going to the dealership to get it programed anyway (+$100)... when I was searching Mazda has a proprietary software that only dealers have.

Sorry
