Hi I recently bought a 2009 2.0d Mazda 5 sport I am getting a problem with not being able to rev over 3000rpm it was actually 2500rpm before I cleaned the egr valve and replaced a burst hose coming from the air filter towards the turbo. I am wondering what else could be stopping me revving above the 3000rpm and it does seem to get worse after driving a few miles

Could be lots of things. Does it do it in neutral as well as under load? What codes show up?

Turbo?

I didn’t think the 5 came with a turbo in any market. I see you noted 2.0, so clearly not the US.

crankshaft sensor code came up on the code reader although the car starts every time no problem wasn’t expecting that to be fair

Crankshaft sensor came up in the reader hopefully be a simple swap over although I thought it would hard to start but il try a change and see what happens just hope it’s not the wires that are causing the problem
