My 5 was serviced in June by an independent who only reset the service light, nothing else. They did use low ash diesel engine oil. Went to deepest Devon in september, so the car had an excellent run. Car went in for damage repair two weeks ago, and had battery disconnected. This week the DPF went straight to flashing, with no other noticeable problems.

Car is booked into dealer tomorrow to have ECU reset. Hope this is all.

Thanks, tony

Update: mazda of littlewick green were very quick and professional, charged me £40.80 inc VAT for the following;
"carried out IDS test and found code P2459 Present DPF regeneration frequency. Checked PM count all ok. Reset oil deterioration level. Cleared code and tested all ok.

No light for now, to confirm my dpf light went straight to flashing.

Thanks all. Mazda stealer did confirm it was only a service reminder when DPF started flashing ( with no loss of power ect).
Had to book it in with main dealer who sent mechanic out to car park, plugged computer in,pressed couple of buttons, said all done thats £40 + vat please.
Thought Dick Turpin day"s where long gone. Ha Ha

Default saw this problem too

My DPF light started flashing a couple of months after a main dealer service, I took it back to the dealer and they said the DPF reset at the last service had 'failed to communicate to the PCM'. They didn't charge anything and apologized for me needing to bring it back.
