Default Exhaust Springs and Bolts

Hello All,

I will be replacing my muffler and will need to change the bolts and springs when doing so as I dont think that they will be reusable. Does anyone know which spring/bolt kit will work on a 2012 mazda 5?
Online I find this (Muffler & Pipe Stud B31R-40-584) but on my car its a bolt with a spring.
Also has anyone had any luck finding an aftermarket muffle other then AP / EASTERN 40173? I cant seem to find it in stock in canada and was wondering if another muffler fits the 2012's?

thanks in advance

You can totally go aftermarket. The only issue with aftermarket spring bolts is if it fits through the stock flanges, aside from that their only job is to put tension on the joint to keep it sealed and allow for some degree of articulation so the exhaust can move with the engine.

If the dealer is so proud of their bolts so as to ask like 7x what the aftermarket ones go for,s then they need to put down the crack pipe

The better choice may be to seek out the fasteners and such to do what you want is to go to a local muffler shop.

Here in US I use many times find what I need for both home and service shop work in McMaster-Carr or MSC Industrial supply
Use your imagination!

You do realize that a dealership is an independent business and they need to make a profit. Yup some parts are more expensive than if you were to find them at other places. But nevertheless, your response clearly indicates NEVER have owned and operated any business!
I might also ad that unless you compare apples to apples how do you even know what the quality or where the origin of manufacture was for any offered part from any source which greatly affect the MSRP.
If you don't like what a business sells something for move on to another that offers the same thing simple as that.
