Electrical Wiring Nightmare
Hello everyone, My name is Victor and I have a particular situation at hand. Two months ago I went to a shop to take care of a plastic cover from right under the driver's side that was falling off. The mechanic put screws fastening the plastic cover to the chassis but in doing so, it touched several cables that were running right along the side under the driver seat. At first, the car lost acceleration and went into limp mode and the Check Engine along with AT lights came on. The car has a P0884 fault code. The TCM is getting intermittent power. The mechanic won't recognise that the issue is the fact that they touched the cables two months ago. The TCM was changed but the problem persists. He gave me the bull**** reason 'bad tcm connector' I've looked that the cables that were damaged and they just taped it with electric tape. The car jumps every time I put it on reverse. The volume changes the radio station! and two days ago when I blew pressured air onto the engine, the dashboard lights went crazy, every time I accelerated all the lights would light up on the dashboard. I've never see that. The electrical issue is getting worst.
I'm not too sure what to do. I'm no mechanic and I don't know much about cars. I am a very curious person and I learn quick so I will find a solution to this, and if anyone can direct me as to what to even start to think about doing, would be more than awesome. I don't want to let my car die. I've had it since 2011 and we've been through a lot!
I'm thinking of going to the scrap yard and take one the wiring from that car and see if I can replace mine. I need to find where the cables go towards the back of the car. I most likely will take out the seats tomorrow and investigate where the main computer module is. maybe I will do that at the scrap yard.
Again, if anyone can give me ANY kind of tip would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry but opinions vary when it comes to to advise. Your issue needs to find a specific Certified Automotive Technician FIRST. Then maybe and Automotive Electrician. There are so many reasons why but mainly it is the training that is so different between the 2 and from exactly what you posted requires the correct person to at least do an analysis of the problem.
honestly if you start experimenting with swapping parts or guessing at a resolve will not only likely add more problems but will waste both time and money that could be better spent getting a proper service Tech to look at your Mazda.
I might suggest to you to expect the possibility of needing to replace your ECU and or TCM . You have more DTC that you or whomever looked either missed or did not know how to find all the information in the ECU.
And yes at some point the damaged wires will need to be repaired or sectioned out and replaced in the harness.
In the meantime time I suggest to disconnect the battery until you can decide a better plane of action then what I am reading. And while the battery is disconnected have it load tested. My guess is your battery will fail a load tested and you will need to replace that before getting a better diagnosis of all your issues. The battery must be charged with a rested voltage minimum of 12.50 or more for a proper load tested.

If you look most Auto electricians do not have current certifications specifically basic Automotive Diagnostic certifications and training regarding things like ECU, TC PCM etc., diagnostics only basic electrical when it comes to them. So your advise is flawed and could potentially be an expensive experiment for anyone with similar issues to seek one.
I am surprised that anyone that claims to indulge in ECU calibrating would suggest an auto electrician based on the issue presented in this thread. But then I am not aware that you actually did a specialized training schooling classes and or programs to actually learn the trade art of EFI/ECU Performance Calibrating as you never mentioned it in your profile or anywhere else since you joined.? Forgive me if you had I just didn't see it?
hmmm?? Self-learning lacks for total understanding on that subject and practice.
There are also in the Automotive service industry reasons why a general independent Automotive service shop does not as a rule hire for their staff an Automotive only electrician nor do many dealerships. I am pretty sure it is that way universally in Motorcycle service industry as well. Now if you are talking about Aviation then that is a different beats altogether. My somewhat on the experience level one of my specific certifications (Avionics & Electrical Systems certification) was specifically to be able to work on aircraft as required by FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) which after almost a year of schooling allowed me to be hired working for Cessna corp as a General maintenance and Avionic specialist.
However before you get off on a your *mobile mechanic service you do in your country I will state there always are a few Automotive electricians that do have such things like ASE Automotive mechanical certification which they choose to specialize in automotive electrical service and repair but anyone needing that specific service should seek one that actually does have those certifications before using them.
*Mobile mechanics are a special breed of daring individuals that many I know of have decided to take their training and experience to the streets. I admire them for their challenges mainly because unlike me I do not ever work on anyone's vehcle unless it is in the shop as a side job or at my home where I have all the possible tools and equipment to pe4rfrom the service correctly. There is nothing so frustrating to go help a friend or family members and having to drive 20-40 minutes one way and find you need to go to the shop or back home for a special tool or equipment.
As for Auto electric service shops we/I at times will send and even make arrangements for our own customers to go to one we trust for quality of work but only for service work that for them they would have all the necessary parts and can take the time to do major wiring repair which is very time consuming and for our GP not worth us offering.
