Drivetrain rumble on 2008 Mazda 5 2.0D Sport
Anyone experienced this before?
I have got a 2008 Mazda 5, has done 43,000 miles now (and had a set of front tyres which lasted 25,000 miles - Michelin Premacy).
Anyway, sorry, not a tyre related question.
I have noticed in the last couple of weeks a bit of a rumble on the drivetrain - it's an on-off noise related to speed on the road (so at low speed is slow, like once per revolution of the wheels).
I know that it is not a tyre issue or a brake disk - the tyres all round are relatively new and in good order (no uneven wear when inspected in detail) and brakes don't bind. Most of all, to confirm it is drivetrain related, the noise stops as soon as I put the clutch down!
It's a lease car so I am guessing that as soon as I find the time, it will be going back to the dealer - but before I have to deal with the "service" manager I'd like to be armed with a bit of knowledge as to whether this is a common issue.

Don't know if the 2 are connected but for the past 6000 miles or so, my 2008 Mazda 5 (Diesel 143) with 37,000 miles, has starting making only what can be described as a rattling noise when accelerating. It can be in any gear but is definitely not a panel/air conditioning sound..?
Any ideas would be helpful as Im due my 37,500 mile service soon !
