Is that your battery light on (far right of video, seems to be halfway cut off)?

It seems like it is acting in some sort of limp or damage-control mode.

Got it booked in next wednesday for a fuel pressure test. So.. what can cause low pressure? Is it just a case of needing a new pump? Remember there isnt any fault codes so doubt its anything electrical

Okay thanks. Just guessing, but it seems like the computer may but cutting fuel to the engine, as you have been stating. I would like to see what your fuel pressure is, if you can find (buy/rent/borrow) a fuel pressure tester. Why is it happening? Could be a faulty fuel system component. Could be the PCM is bad. Could be any number of things to be honest. Could be something as simple as a temperature sensor. A compression test would be nice too, but I assume if it is compression related it would be running like **** all the time and not seeing this sort of 'cut off'.

Still no codes, even if you put a scanner on it?

Edit: Oh dang you made a new post before I even finished this. I dont know enough about diesels to make a really educated guess, but at this point I would say it is the computer cutting the fuel. Now, why? it is getting some sort of input (or lack of input) that is making it decide to cut fuel at around 3k. if it were me, I would start by doing some research into rebuilding the fuel pump and inspect the components that it uses (fuel pressure regulator, for example). Might start looking around here: https://www.google.com/search?client...4dUDCAs&uact=5 and https://www.google.com/search?client...da+diesel+pump

Story so far... had my mate mechanic around. We cracked off the fuel pipes to each cylinder while it was running, theres fuel there alright...lol.. we disconnected the injectors one at a time and the engine tone changed so we know they are working. We checked the turbo, mechanically.. seems fine. No noticeable leaks on the vacuum pipes either. This was all at tick over. He checked my belt timing and reckons its good, but will double check at work to make sure. He seems to think its missing on tick over tho, slight bumble to it. I wasnt sure but he works with engines a lot more than me. Its going for a fuel pressure test tomorrow, im going to phone them in a minute to see what that involves as we know there is fuel getting thro.
