Default Body side molding

Anyone out there have experience adding body side molding to their Mazda5...? I'm especially interested in hearing from anyone who's done the installation themselves. How difficult was it? I'm the owner of a 2010 Mazda5 GT. For some inexplicable reason Mazda deleted the body side molding on the 2010. It's about 2" wide and runs the length of all four doors. And, of course, it has major dent protective properties! I'm thinking of purchasing and either installing it myself or having it installed by the dealer's body shop. Cost from the dealer is about $200 total or from on-line OEM suppliers about $200.

moulding comes with adhesive tape. Measure and mark the area you want to install the moulding with masking tape where the bottom of the moulding needs to go.

Moulding has plastic film covering the adhesive that you pull off while pressing the moulding against the side of the body.

Test fit before you remove tape covering adhesive.

Use a razor blade to cut the moulding for door openings AFTER it is stuck to the side of the 5.

Accept minor discrepancies in placement after the job is done- there is no pulling off the mouldings without wearing out the adhesive.

Take your time!
