Default Door molding issue

The driver side doors molding is all messed up. When I open the rear driver side door the molding catches the driver doors molding. It goes under it and prys it up.

What can I do to fix it? Would it just be better to take it off? Whats the best way to do that?

I don't want the paint underneath it to get ruined.

remove it, take a heat gun and some floss and get to start peeling it off, then buy some cleaner to remove the glue residue, its a pretty common thing

Any cleaners you can reccomend?

Is it going to make a difference that the car is 2 years old? Will it be harder to remove?
