Battery Removal
Hi all, new to these forums and indeed Mazda
I need to replace the battery on a Mazda 5 2008, the old one has been charged twice but it does not seem to be holding (doesn't help that my wife cant drive the car for 6 weeks so it is only being used once a week in this cold weather)
Anyway, the dealership are sending me a new battery, but on looking I can't see how it can be removed as the clearance above the battery does not seem enough to lift it out. What am I missing? Anyone know how to remove it? Scoured the internet and ended up here! any help much appreciated!
Thanks in advance

I don't have this car so i don't know how to take it out.
If this car get moved only once in a while consider putting a Battery Minder in. It is a mini charger with a quick disconnect, available at the auto parts store. The better ones have circuitry that keeps the charger from overcharging the battery.
Hopefully your wife will remember to unplug the charger before she goes!
Modern cars usually have a theft prevention system that draws a small current and slowly drains the battery.

My Mazda 6 has a current draw. I installed a small solar panel to help compensate this draw. Wrapping battery with insulation also helped when starting in cold weather.
