bad head gasket? or maybe not?
Hey all,
I am working on my daughters car 2007 mazda 5 2.3 AT, she let the coolant run dry and andit over heated . her mom took it to mechaniwho claimed to have done a exaust test on the radiator and it was positive - bad head gasket. recommended replacing motor at 8k usd!!!!! took it home my self refilled coolant , did proper burp procedure. no runnning fine, no codes, no smoke, no oil coolant or water in oil and now when i try to do exaust check its negative - the test fluid stays blue. It changes redily when i draw axause from tail pipe.... Have i done the test wrong? ive driven 100 miles already half high way at 75 mph and other half city and no appearent loss of coolant. no leaks visible any where ... any idea on where to go from here ? Last I had checker her coolant was probably 9 months ago and she has take a couple of road trips since.
ANy idea will be appreciated
chris
