I just bought a 2012 Mazda5 Touring and was surprised that it doesn't have automatic on/off headlights. After doing some research, I found that the Sport and Touring are supposed to have auto-off headlights; I left my headlights on for about 5 minutes and they didn't turn off. Am I missing something?

Thanks for bringing this up. Just got a new Touring and am disappointed the lights didn't turn off. This is important to me for safety reasons (and I have a poor habit of leaving headlights on, requiring frequent jumpstarts).

So...what are the two of us missing? The link below indicates the auto-off feature is standard even on the base-level Sport:
