2012 Mazda5 nearly stalls under light acceleration
I bought my 2012 Mazda 5 back in April of 2011 and been having the same engine hesitation ( like the ignition key was turned off ) in stop and go city driving at very low speeds. I'm begining to think the transmission is trying to decide what gear to go in and their is no response for 2 or 3 seconds and then the engine rpms come up slow like it shifted into a too higher gear. I brought it back to the dealer IRA Mazda and the mechanic verified what was happening and took out another new Mazda 5 and that car also had this problem so I was told this was "normal" for this car. Mazda USA headquarters just tells me to go back to the dealer. I've been put in dangerous situations entering rotarys, on ramps, and taking left turns with on coming traffic. I've had horns blown at me and other drivers curse. I've contacted the dealer again and waiting to hear from them if they have a fix. I only have 6800 miles on this car and now thinking of taking a considerable loss and trade it in
My 2012 Mazda 5 has a gas pedal overide if the brake pedal is being touched and you have your foot on the accelerator.. I've been driving for 55 years and have the habit of using my left foot on the brake when in traffic. Why didn't the dealership or Mazda USA tell me about this new system put on cars cause of the problems with Toyota unintentional acceleration.
