It's bad enough that Mazda went to the new style grill, (which looks ridiculous IMO), but what the hell is up with the waves on the side??!! I may be wrong, but I think Mazda screwed the pooch with that design

 

Didn't you get the memo??!! It's all about the flowing waves and the patterns of nature!!

You're not alone in thinking those waves are a dog's dinner. Some have even compared the rear quarter styling of the new 5 to the Ssangyong Rodius (Phtew!) and, to a degree, I can see what they mean.

We have Mr Laurens van den Acker to thank for that 'Nagare' design. He's now jumped to Renault (just as Renault's cars are looking nice again!), and Mazda say they're going to water down that design concept.

 

I hope they water it down a bit, if anything go back to the way it was or something similar

 

Mazda better stop sitting on their laurels.

In the UK, the unique selling point/s of the Mazda5 are fast disappearing when new versions of minivans like the Seat Alhambra and VW Sharan come along.
