2008 Mazda5 Touring no heat out of rear vent
Hello all,
Just picked up a 2008 Mazda5. I am having one interior issue. The vents in the back will not put out heat. They will put our cold just fine but no heat. I was going to download the service manual for the 07 Mazda5 but then I realized they don't have vents in the rear.
Any help on the problem or where I can locate an 08+ manual would greatly be appreciated.

If you mean the vents in the back of the console between the front seats...those are air conditioning vents only, no heat from them.
They will circulate ambient temperature air, or cold air if the main A/C is on.
PM me your email and I can send you a 2009 manual, might be pretty close to the '08.
It's 4.5 megs, so your email sever would have to have room to hold it until you can download it.
From the 2009 manual:

From the 2009 manual:
NOTE
Only cool or cold air (no heat) blows through
the rear vents while the front climate control is
on. Heat for the rear passengers comes from
under the front seats when the front heater is
on and set to floor mode.
When pressing the rear ventilation control
switch on the front control panel (with climate
control system on), the rear ventilation system
operates at low speed only. To change to high
speed, press the HI rear vent button.the rear vents while the front climate control is

they will work with the AC? Hmm... Mazda told me it was outside air only. (when I inquired about hte lack of heat with them).
If it does work with A/C, seems stupid that it wont work with heat also. Dumb dumb dumb.

The rear vents only point up. AND to have heat vents that only point up doesn't work out so well for an even temp throughout the cabin.
