2006 Mazda 5 - High Mileage
Ok, I'm thinking about purchasing a 2006 Mazda5 with 86,000 miles for $9500. The salesman told me that it has been well taken care of and it is a "limited" version, not sure what that means. My main concern is the milieage. Thoughts on this?????
As with any car of any mileage go through the list.
Look for maintenace records
Check for frame damage or flood damage (Carfax/Autocheck don't always catch them.)
Get the car inspected by a mechanic you trust.
With that mileage look up upcoming services that will be required (Depending on how you drive a timing belt may be due very soon.)
Price. I just bought a 5 for $11,300 plus dealer doc/prep/B.S profit fee of $599.
This was a 08 touring with 47K.
Given standard estimated depriciation of $1k for every year and $1K for every 12K miles. Your should come in around $7K. Check out this site. http://www.carquotes.com/tools/black_book_valuation
It gives you BlackBook (dealers don't use KBB and only banks use NADA) I give bogus address information but your email has to be real. I haven't got any spam from them YET. Also just put something in for what you want to buy, be sure to put over one month buy time.
Limited? I think the only thing limited is the dealers knowledge of his inventory.
Good Luck!
