Ok here's the deal. There is NO CHIP that you can just ADD to your car that instantly gives 30HP gains. If it's a PCM, then that is a different story. What you have to do is wait until someone unlocks the Mazda 3 PCM and then a company can tune it and program it to a more sportier setting (quicker shifts, etc.). That module is not a reprogrammed PCM but a resister that claims to increase performance. Reprogrammed PCMs cost a couple hundred dollards typically so you are not going to be able to get one for 20 bucks.

My friend told me that he put a $40 chip in his car and has yet to have any problems with it.

 

a chip is a different thing than what this is. this thing looks like you have to splice it inline with something, by doing that you cant just take it off if there is a psoblem and take it to the dealership without them knowing that there was something spliced inline with the PCM. and a chip, is normally a little higher than $40, i checked on one for my Beretta, it was $150. I would not buy this thing, it looks like junk, just a plastic box with some wires coming out of either end and some graphic on the front, probably a resistor inside. i would say buy it and take it apart ato see whats in it, or take it somewhere to see if can be tested to prove it really works, then let us know.

 

sometimes trial versions of a certain chip are available for an inexpensive price...the only catch is that its only a trial version and not permanent...so after say 60 hours, it wont run anymore.
