while the site has been down i have been doing some work and gaining some knowledge about pulleys and what not. I want to change my pulleys but not my crankshaft pulley since i heard more negative than positive. I am thinking about ordering water pump and alternator pulley but was wondering if this would be a good idea since i won't be changing all of them. I'm also getting rear anti sway bars soon but on stock suspension and still haven't got a straight forward answer to if it will have a negative impact later on or no. I want the weapon-r intake manifold it'd be nice to have something that looks shiny and gives performance under the hood..anyone want to donate?

a crankshaft pulley will only do more harm than good if the pulley is underdriven. if the pulley is stock specs, but lightened, you don't have anything to worry about. an underdrive pulley will slow down all of the other pulleys (water pump, alternator, etc) and that will make everything perform less. if you just lighten all of the pulleys, you will make the motor waste less energy which will allow the engine to exert that energy elsewhere (horsepower). unfortunately, it will also contribute to a drivetrain that has less centrifugal force (momentum), which, in turn, will make it easier to jump the clutch when you first launch. basically, it takes a little bit away from the drivability of the car. any mod worth it's salt will do that though. if you just lighten the pulleys, you probably won't notice much of a change in the drivability. if you lightened the flywheel and clutch also, you would pretty much have to relearn how to drive the car.

you should stand to gain about 4-5 horsepower, but you will probably double that if you just go ahead and get the crank pulley. if you did a full set (water pump, alternator, P/S, crank) you would probably be looking at gaining 12-15.
