Updating software Mazda 3 2017

Updating software Mazda 3 2017
Hi All,
Quick question hopefully.
Is it only Mazda dealers who can update the software on the car ? i have a mazda 3 platinum 2017 (ireland) nearest dealer is now over a hour away but anytime i book in its always leave the car with us for the day. Obvuiously this means taking a day off work and/or hanging around a town for a day waiting for it to be done.
Can another garage do it if or even myself ? or is specialized mazda software/Laptop needed ?
