I have a 2021 Mazda 3, 5 door and love just about everything about it. There are a few annoying things though and one of those is that there is no switch off the trunk light. I often have reasons to leave the hatch open, and sometimes forget to close it. I don't want to drain the battery, and the "My Mazda" app keeps hounding me to close the trunk.
Is there some way to turn that light off that I'm missing?
How hard would it be to add a switch myself? Just cut it into one of the wires to the light and mount it nearby.
I've had older models of this same car that had a switch on the trunk light. Could I get one of those lights and replace the switchless one?
