turbos on 3's
it does make your chances of throwing a rod or blowing a gasket higher. you need to rebuild a motor to get it ready for turbo. supercharging is fine to do on stock internals but i don't recommend supercharging a front wheel drive car.
turbo and superchargers are just different ways of getting more power.
A Supercharger is driven off of a belt, so there is parasitic loss associated with spinning the supercharger
A turbocharger is powered off of exhaust gases, so no parasitic loss.
Increasing the power of your engine in any way increases the stresses it sees.
Turbocharging or Supercharging can be done on stock internals provided you don't go too high on the boost. If you want to go boost crazy, get yourself some good forged internals for the motor.
