Trade my 350Z for an '07 Madza Speed3?
Hey Guys,
I am brand new to this forum. Over the past few days I have been doing research on the 2007 Mazda Speed3, and I am very interested in getting one. If I do, I need to trade in or sell my baby, an '03 350Z touring (leather, bose, dvd,nav..etc). I already know about the HP/TQ specs etc, but I wanted to know what you guys on this forum thought about the new Speed3 personally, and more specifically compared tomy/a 2003Nissan 350Z (287hp stock, RWD).
I have pro's and con's on both cars, but wanted to know from personal experience, if it's better overall/worse, and just any specifics that can help me decide.
THANKS!!!

I haven't been in a 350-Z so I can't comment much on it. I imagine the biggest difference is going to be going from a RWD to FWD and getting used to the handling characteristics. Mostly though I encourage you to do the test drive and see how things compare to you.
I think you will be pleased by the overall quality of the car esp the interior. I had the chance to sit in a 350z the other day and while it was pretty awesome, the interior of the MS3 just felt like it was quite a lot nicer, materials wise. As far as power goes I have no idea, however the MS3 pulls VERY hard once you hit 3rd and the handling is extremely tight without being unforgiving. Ultimately though it is up to the test drive to determine how thngs go. Let us know your impressions post-test drive.
As much as I like the Speed3, my preference is for the RWD vehicle (if it's just a fun car.) If you build the cars up, you'd end up faster in the Z as you'll hit the limits of traction with FWD faster.
That being said I think the Speed3 would be the better daily driver/winter car.

I agree with SSTLAURE in that the Z should be a better outright performer in most if not all respects. I have never driven one, and I'm only vaguely familiar with the specs, but I know they do pretty well at the road track. However, if you need a back seat and 4 doors, there isn't much more fun to be had than with the MS3. For the same price, there isNO more fun than an MS3.
In all seriousness, these are 2 completely different classes of cars. The real question to ask is, WHY do you want to get rid of the Zcar? That will give you some insight into whether or not the MS3 is right for you.
