does the 2.3 have traction control? it seems like the car kind of lags when you upshift. for example, i can't chirp second - it seems like the car is holding back until it has established itself into gear. i don't think the clutch is worn (35k, but who knows maybe the previous owner drove poorly), and my vw golf would chirp second no problem and had only 115 hp/105 ftlb. my front tires were nearly bald too, until i got a new set a few days ago. so any thoughts? thanks for the info.

 

The Touring and Grand Touring in the 08 model year do, but the S does not, and my 08 will chirp it real good in second.

 

My MS3 has traction control the button to disable it is DTC (Driveline Traction Control) the the left of the steering column on the dash next to the gauge cluster light ****.

Cars.com reviews section seems to show that it is not a standard option but is available for the GT.
