Default Tire Pressure - automaker versus tiremaker

Guess I was asleep when this happened, but it seems the lay of the land these days is that both the automaker and the tiremaker put forth a tire pressure recommendation.

If they conflict, what is your opinion of what to do? For my tires, Mazda is saying 32, but I have found web recommendations (reputable IMO) of 35.

I am not an expert - but i usually go with the higher recommendation, since higher pressure = better MPG -

I have done so on my 2K7, and only noticed a slight difference in handling.

I am running 38F/31R on my Falkens and have no problems w/additional wear. The extra frontpressure helps w/combatting the understeer too.
If I were autoXing, I'd be running more in the range of 42/34.
It's an old FWD trick.
