Default Subframe removal

Hello,

I’d like to drop my front subframe because it’s rusty, must I remove the steering rack? Or can i just unbolt the steering rack of the subframe, and let it hanging by the steering column and the tie rod? Mazda 3 BK 2004 2.0

Thanks

Thanks for your response, i will try it, but remove the swaybar bushing looks difficult with just tiny space...

You should be able to unbolt the steering column universal beside the pedals ( steering straight & locked) & drop the complete subframe & rack together. I'm certain its easier.
